There may not be a school-age kid who does not like to play with slime! Of course, the Glibber can be bought, it can be made easily with just a few ingredients. The benefits of this are clear – the little ones can also participate in it and they would spend a wonderful, sociable time together! In this article, we’ll show you how to make slime yourself – try our recipes with your kids, and the fun is guaranteed!
Make mucus yourself – the basic recipe

As I said, you need only a few ingredients that are normally present at home for making your own mucus. To make the glibber you only need:
- Liquid detergent
- water-soluble craft glue (it should also be solvent-free)
- a glass of hot water
- Food coloring (as desired)
- big bowl
If you have worried everything, you can start with the slime production! Take a large bowl and mix in about 1 glass of the water-soluble craft glue with 1 glass of hot water. It is important to use solvent-free adhesive – only in this case, the finished product is not toxic and for children’s games suitable. Stir everything very well and add food coloring according to your preferences – you need about a pinch of it. If you think the color is not intense enough, add some more until you get the result you want. For a transparent, colorful slime, use the best transparent craft glue. Finally, you should, for example, mix in a cap from the liquid detergent. Now try if the mass sticks to your fingers – if so, add a little more detergent. The mucus is not finished until it leaves the fingers without residue.
Make mucus yourself with cornstarch

But you could also make mucus yourself without glue. In this case, its consistency would be less viscous and somewhat firmer. We offer you a great recipe for which you need the following:
- 2 cups of cornstarch
- a big glass of hot water (about 350ml)
- Food coloring
- 2 bowl
In this case, the preparation of mucus is even easier. Take a bowl and mix in the hot (but not boiling!) Water with the food coloring. Put the two cups of cornstarch in another bowl and slowly add the liquid with constant stirring. If the mass gets too firm in the end, add a little more water until you get the consistency you want. And if it’s too liquid, you should of course add cornflour. If the mucus no longer sticks to your fingers, it is best to put it in a bag or can – this way you can keep it from drying out for longer.
Make mucus yourself – with glitter, pearls and shaving foam
Making slime yourself would make you and your kids much more fun, if you add little pearl or glitter – that would make the Glibber look beautiful in the end. A great idea is to work according to the basic recipe, instead of using common food color but a little glow-in-the-dark color – so you get a glowing slime, with which the little ones in the dark would certainly vile fun had! You will also get a great result if you make slime in 2-3 different colors yourself (preferably with glitter) and then knead them (do not knead them too intensively so that the colors do not mix completely!). And for a particularly fluffy slime try our recipe with shaving cream:
- 40-50 ml transparent craft glue
- Food coloring
- a little contact lens solution
- 2 hands full of shaving cream
Put the shaving cream in a bowl and color it with some food coloring of your choice. Add the craft glue, and mix well the ingredients. Now you should also give the contact lens solution to the remaining ingredients. Be careful because the solution is to make the mass firmer! Finished!
