Build wall shelf yourself: DIY instructions
Step 1: Assemble the body
The first step of building the shelf is to assemble the body. That’s why it’s so important that you’ve made the right choice of what shelf to build – square, box, hanging wooden boards, etc. If you have not bought the boards finished, you should prepare them. After cutting and grinding follows the construction manual. First, the eight 6cm wide wooden strips are processed at feet. For this purpose, two strips are each created at right angles to each other, glued together and additionally secured with screws. Subsequently, two of the feet are connected to each other. This is done using the 30cm long strips. These strips, which at the same time also provide the bearing surfaces for the shelves, are screwed between the two feet and end in each case in the corners of the rectangular construction. The strips are mounted in the heights in which the shelves are to be located.
