How to build a fancy sofa yourself is presented in the following lightweight construction manual:
First make legs! For this you need 5 x 3 cm thick wooden slats. Assemble each leg in total from 10 strips! Then glue together a 30 cm, 25 cm, 20 cm, 15 cm and a 10 cm long strip, so that the strips are flush with the undersides and thus create a staircase. Glue two of these stairs together! To do this, connect leg sides at right angles to each other on the two longest strips!
Prepare timbers for the side panels! Cut wooden boards! This is how the side of the sofa emerges. The 200 cm and two 80 cm long wooden boards get stepped cutouts. Make sure that the boards are 5 cm wide and 5 cm high so that they can be placed on the legs later. The 200 x 80 cm large wooden panel receives the same stepped cut-outs at the lower edge. Depending on the taste, shape the top with step-like cutouts. Then smooth edges with sandpaper!
Now assemble the sofa! Drill dowel holes! For this purpose, each leg should receive a dowel hole centered on the top of each bar, which is filled with wood glue and equipped with a wooden dowel.
Then also equip side panels and rear wall with dowel holes! Then apply wood glue to the bonding surfaces of the individual parts! Put legs together with the sides and the back wall!
Mount the seat of the sofa! Screw the two 180 cm and the two 60 cm long wooden slats inside into the sofa stand!
Screw on the strips the remaining wooden plate!
Now insert the mattress!
Your new sofa is ready! Does not it look nice? Depending on your taste, you can paint it with a paint or decorate it with pillows.
