All children expect Christmas with impatience – not only because of the gifts and the long school holidays, but also because the house is festively decorated and the whole family gathers – a magical atmosphere that even reminds adults of the fairy tales of their childhood. So that the little ones do not feel excluded from the preparation for the festival, you can work together with them and decorate the Christmas tree or the apartment. Besides, the thematic crafting of Christmas often results in unique items that will someday remain as a beautiful memory – when the child has long since grown up. Here we offer you 3 interesting ideas that you can try out with the children. Have fun crafting!
Make Christmas with children – make a star of wooden beads and wire yourself
When it comes to crafting for Christmas with children, you can either choose a simpler idea, with the children participating in the whole process, or prefer a more complicated variant. In the second case, of course, you should play the leading role, while the little ones will only help you with the easier steps. A perfect crafting material, which you can choose, are the wooden beads. They are available in different sizes, can be found in almost every store and tinkering with them takes neither much time nor money. Here’s how to use wooden beads and wire to make a beautiful Christmas tree top star – an idea that’s suitable for children of all ages. It is best to choose uncoloured wooden beads to let this task later on. You can only bend the wire with the help of a pair of pliers, so that the little ones thread the wooden beads problemlas on it. When the tinkering is done, tie the two ends of the wire together and use a string to hang the star.

Christmas crafts with children – Advent wreath with a difference
Another creative craft project your kids can attend is to make a Christmas wreath out of bullets. He will not only look unique, but also create a happy atmosphere on the table in the run-up to Christmas. For this you need the following materials – a styrofoam ring as a basis (he can be found in a hobby shop, in most variants, four candle holders are incorporated – for each Advent), Christmas baubles or balls of felt (you can do this yourself) and instant glue. Of course you can also combine the balls with natural materials – for example nuts and pine cones. Let the kids stick all the decorations on the foundation. If you use traditional Christmas balls, first remove their hangers so they can be stably attached to the polystyrene wreath.
Unique ice queen making Christmas ball with the kids
Do your children like the movie “Frozen”? Then you can make Christmas decorations together, inspired by the ice queen Elsa! For this purpose they only need a transparent ball made of plastic, confetti in Turkish blue, a colored Elsa template, toothpicks, rhinestones and also a paper cone. First of all, you have to shape the bottom of the sphere. You need shiny confetti and the paper cone that can be made from a simple piece of paper. Use the cone to fill your kids with confetti about a quarter of the ball. Thereafter, the figure is designed by Elsa. You can find a nice colored template on the internet – it is important that the image is double-sided and small enough. After you have printed the template, cut out the two figures and glue them to the toothpick. The finished Elsa figure should then be inserted into the ball. What’s left is to decorate the outside of the plastic ball. Use the rhinestones – they look like little snowflakes and would make their homemade ball even more beautiful. Now she is finished and can be hung on the tree!
